iChips

iChip™ updateable Internet Controller™ chips provide a cost-effective and reliable solution for embedding IP-based communication and other network services in low-cost, non-PC devices running M2M (machine-to-machine) applications. iChip mediates the connection between a host device and the Internet, operating as an embedded device server. It eliminates the need for Internet programming and avoids the hassle, risks and costs of a development project. Instead, you are assured a fast design-in, with predictable timing and budget. Typical design time is one man-month.

 

A complete, firmware-based hardware and software solution, iChip includes basic and upper layer Internet protocols and many features that optimize communication over IP-enabled networks, such as security, automatic port reconnect, and IP address registration. iChip works with almost all wired and Wireless LANs and modems, any host processor and any or no host operating system.

 

All models feature a fast and easy design-in, thanks to Connect One’s AT+i™ Protocol, which eliminates the need for Internet programming and minimizes changes to the host application. In fact, when using AT+i’s SerialNET™ mode, no changes to the host application are required at all. The AT+i command set is portable among all iChip models. Depending on the model, a new generation iChip may be designed into a product that uses a previous generation iChip, with minimum or no changes to the AT+i commands.

iChip is available in several families designed to meet the needs of a wide range of applications. All solutions support TCP/UDP sockets, and most support upper layer protocols and serial-to-IP bridging via AT+i's SerialNET™ operating mode.

iChipSec CO2064
Connect One's newest and lowest-cost TCP/IP and encryption offload engine. Includes 10/100BaseT Ethernet MAC; USB host and device; SSL3/TLS1  encryption and UDP acceleration in hardware; routing; optional soft modem; tamper protection; one two-wire, one SPI, and one USART interface. Supports 802.11b/g WLANs, 10/100BaseT LANs, dial-up and wireless modems.

iChipSec CO2128/CO2144
Newest and lowest-cost solution for high-bandwidth (32 Mbps) applications. Includes 10/100BaseT Ethernet MAC; USB host and device; SSL3/TLS1  encryption and UDP acceleration in hardware; routing; optional soft modem; tamper protection; one two-wire, two SPIs, two USARTs, high-speed parallel bus and external bus interfaces. Supports 802.11b/g WLANs, 10/100BaseT LANs, dial-up and wireless modems.

iChip CO710AG

Cost-effective, high-value solution for 3.3-volt designs that require remotely updateable firmware, high performance, low power consumption and maximum bandwidth. Packaged in a micro BGA form-factor. Supports 802.11b/g WLANs, 10/100BaseT LANs, dial-up and wireless modems.

 

iChipSec CO711AG

Easiest way to offload security tasks from a host processor. Pin-compatible with CO710AG, iChipSec CO711AG supports SSL3/TLS1 encryption for secure sockets and secure FTP sessions. It also supports WEP and WPA for secure WiFi sessions. Supports 802.11b/g WLANs, 10/100BaseT LANs, dial-up and wireless modems.
